It protects the winch. that is all superwinch lp8500 will and was designed to try and do. would like the would have used a fade resistant material tho. once months of use it's turned a aweful shade of grey.

This cowl fits the LP10000 winch, however it's a trifle expensive for what it's, and therefore the brand is not sensible and garish. it's exhausting to ascertain within the photo, however there are 2 straps with plastic clips that go beneath the winch and hold the duvet in place.
