It protects the winch. That is all superwinch lp8500 does and was designed to do. Wish the would have used a fade resistant material tho. After months of use it's turned a aweful shade of grey.

This cover fits the LP10000 winch, but superwinch lp8500 is a small expensive for what superwinch lp8500 is, and the logo is unnecessary and garish. It is hard to see in the photograph, but there's straps with plastic clips that go under the winch and hold the cover in place.

It covers the winch and keeps UV off of the synthetic line. It's faded to a light grey in two months. It is like a fitted gym bag for the winch. A gym bag that cost $60!

I was not happy with the logo so I reversed superwinch lp8500 and changed the strap. Love it now
